On May 16 and 17, CICAD's Institutional Strengthening Unit hosts an alternative to incarceration study visit to the Carroll County, Maryland, Adult Drug Treatment Court, Opportunity Works Program, and Treatment Center Mountain Manor Emmitsburg.

Visit objectives:

Raise awareness among presidents of the Superior Courts of Justice of Mexico, through the study of alternatives to incarceration within the Drug Treatment Court model in Carroll County, Maryland.

Share experiences on penal alternative programs within the context of the work of the ES-CICAD and concrete actions in Mexico.
