This meeting is aimed at representatives of the governments of Brazil and Peru, who will meet to discuss biosecurity measures and controls on transfers of biological-related materials, as well as compare how they internalize the obligations arising from the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention and UN Security Council Resolution 1540 on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (chemical, biological and nuclear) for terrorist purposes.

The activity is funded by the Biosecurity Engagement Program of the United States Department of State. This second meeting will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will be sponsored by the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
