AICMA continues to evolve over its 30 years of activities. In Colombia, AICMA assists the Government in the implementation of an external quality management system to ensure continuous improvement of land release activities and to maximize safety, efficiency and effectiveness.,

It also conducts mine risk education and community liaison projects in victim assistance. Since 2022, AICMA advises the Colombian Government on operational efficiency as well as institutional strengthening.

In Ecuador and Peru, AICMA supports the renewed commitment of both countries to clear its respective mines in remote border areas populated by indigenous communities who depend on hunting, fishing and agriculture.  

The office works under the Department of Public Security.
