Short Bio:
Paola Fernandez is a Project Manager for the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (CICTE) of the Organization of American States (OAS) based in Washington, D.C. since April 2009. Under her responsibility are the design, planning, execution, monitoring, and presentation of reports for projects under the Unit for Securing Travelers of the Border Management Section. Before working for the CICTE Secretariat, Ms. Fernandez served for more than six years as Marketing and Communications Manager for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. and for Guillette de Colombia S.A Ms. Fernandez is an Industrial Engineer from the Javeriana University in Colombia, and has a postgraduate Degree in Business Administration and a Marketing certificate from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Short Bio:
Eduardo Granizo is a project officer for the Crowded Spaces and Tourism Security Program at the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) of the Organization of American States (OAS). He supports the implementation of capacity-building projects for the Border Management section. He rejoined CICTE in 2021 after six years of having initially worked there for four years. Prior to rejoining OAS/CICTE, Eduardo worked for three years at the Department of Sustainable Development, where he supported the monitoring, evaluation, and communications program of the United States - Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) Environmental Cooperation Program (ECP). He assisted in drafting and editing annual CAFTA-DR evaluation reports on monitoring the progress of the environmental cooperation agenda in the region; and conducted site visits in Central America and Dominican Rep. to evaluate the progress of projects and draft success stories. Before that, he worked as an intern and freelancer for The Economist Group researching, analyzing data, and writing about countries and companies. Eduardo holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and International Studies from Earlham College and a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University.

Short Bio:
Mr. Duccio Mazarese is currently Programme Management Officer on Major Events Security/Protection of Vulnerable Target of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). Since 2008, he has been working for UNICRI within the SecurityGovernance / Counter Terrorism Unit. Prior to that, he joined as a consultant other international and non-governmental organization as well as private companies. Mr. Mazarese received his LL.B degree from the University of Turin (Italy) in 2001, a Masters Degree in Management of Development from the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2003 and an LL.M degree from the University of California (USA) in 2007.

Short Bio:
Alice Roberti works as Team Assistant within the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), supporting both its major event security and prevention of violent extremism (PVE) workstreams. Before joining UNICRI, she worked in the field of prisoners’ rehabilitation and resettlement in the UK, coordinating mentoring as well as capacity building programs. Alice holds an MSc in Criminal Justice Policy from the London School of Economics and an LLM in Transnational Crime and Justice from the UN mandated University for Peace.

Short Bio:
Carol is a Project Officer at the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism, supporting the security of crowded spaces. Carol has over 10 years of experience in international development. She has worked with different international organisations, particularly INTERPOL, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), the United Nations children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), as well as with government agencies and international NGOs. This has provided her with the skills to adapt to different scenarios and support vulnerable groups from diverse ethnicities and social backgrounds. Carol has experience in designing and leading complex and multisectoral programmes to support, amongst others, gender equality, sport for development, peace, security, and human rights.
