Figure 4 compares the cumulative total amount of financial aid that the international
community has provided for humanitarian and other types of assistance to migrants and
refugees from different conflicts for which data are available since the year in which each crisis
leading to displacement began. The data in the graph come from the Financial Tracking System
(FTS) portal of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
(UNOCHA). The figures correspond to FTS-reported funding, and therefore exclude other types
of financing. In other words, the figures may underestimate the actual total amount of
financing for each crisis.
